Dress Code for Taekwondo Training

All Taekwondo groups of the RSC Essen train in the following attire:

1. Training Attire

  • Taekwondo dobok consisting of white trousers and a white jacket
    (pullover style or traditional wrap jacket)
  • Kup grades wear a dobok with a white collar
  • Dan holders may wear a dobok with a black collar
  • Belt corresponding to the current rank

Under the Dobok

  • Girls and women may generally wear a white T-shirt underneath
  • Boys and men can also wear a white T-shirt underneath, depending on weather conditions

Footwear

  • If necessary, Taekwondo shoes with white, non-marking soles may be worn

Protective Equipment

Depending on the training content, protective equipment is used in accordance with the current regulations of the German Taekwondo Union (DTU).
Any additional or alternative protective equipment must be agreed upon with the coach in advance.
Medically required aids (e.g., glasses or hearing aids) are, of course, permitted.

Religious Head Coverings

Religiously motivated head coverings (e.g., sports hijabs) are permitted during training, provided they fit securely, are safely fastened, and do not pose a risk of injury.


2. Not Permitted

For safety reasons, the following items are generally not allowed during training:

  • Jewelry of any kind (including earrings and piercings)
  • Necklaces, bands, or decorative items worn on the neck, arms, or legs
  • Wristwatches or heart rate monitors with chest straps
    (exception: medical necessity after consultation)
  • Metal hairpins or hair clips
  • Pins or decorative attachments on the dobok
  • Scarves or similar accessories
  • Inappropriate badges, prints, or logos on training clothing

3. Exceptions

Any deviations from this dress code (e.g., due to climatic conditions or medical reasons) must be agreed upon with the coach prior to the training session or will be announced by the coaches in the WhatsApp group.

Failure to comply with this dress code may result in exclusion from training for safety reasons.
